ADC Didn't Apply to Use Eagle Square

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has firmly dismissed allegations made by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that it was deliberately denied access to Eagle Square, a prominent public venue in Abuja often used for national events and political gatherings.

Responding to the claims, the Minister described the accusations as baseless and lacking any factual foundation. He emphasized that the ADC did not follow the established procedures required to secure approval for the use of the facility.

According to him, all organizations and political parties are subject to the same application process, which must be duly completed and approved before access can be granted.

Wike further characterized the ADC’s allegations as an attempt to mislead the public and generate unwarranted sympathy.

He stressed that the administration of the FCT remains committed to transparency, fairness, and equal treatment of all groups, regardless of political affiliation.

The Minister reiterated that no individual or organization would be unjustly restricted from using public facilities, provided they comply with the necessary guidelines and obtain the required permissions.

He urged political stakeholders to adhere to due process and avoid making inflammatory or unverified claims that could undermine public trust.

In conclusion, Wike maintained that the claims of politically motivated denial were unfounded, reaffirming the FCT administration’s dedication to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that public infrastructure is accessible to all qualified applicants under clearly defined regulations.
