In a statement issued following extensive consultations with party stakeholders, community leaders, and grassroots supporters across Kogi Central, the lawmaker said her decision was anchored on the overwhelming encouragement she received, as well as the need to consolidate on the progress recorded during her first term in office.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan noted that her tenure has been defined by people-oriented representation, advocacy for transparency and accountability, and deliberate efforts to attract development projects to her constituency.
She emphasized that a renewed mandate would enable her to expand ongoing initiatives, strengthen legislative interventions, and continue to amplify the voice of her constituents at the national level.
While expressing gratitude to her family, political associates, and constituents for their unwavering support, she called on members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State and beyond to remain united and focused ahead of the electoral cycle.
According to her, unity within the party remains critical to securing victory and delivering effective governance that meets the expectations of the people.
She further stressed the importance of cohesion, discipline, and collective purpose among party faithful, urging leaders and supporters to set aside differences and work towards a common goal. “Our strength lies in our unity. Together, we can build a stronger platform that truly represents the aspirations of our people,” she stated.
The senator also reaffirmed her dedication to inclusive leadership, pledging to continue engaging with youths, women, and marginalized groups to ensure their voices are adequately represented in policy-making processes.
