Speaking amid growing concerns over the increasing influx of new entrants into the party, Prof.
Yilwatda emphasized the APC’s commitment to preserving its institutional integrity and rewarding loyalty.
He noted that while the party remains open and accommodating to individuals who choose to join its ranks, such inclusivity will not come at the expense of those who have consistently contributed to its growth and stability over the years.
According to him, the APC leadership recognizes the sacrifices, dedication, and foundational roles played by its legacy members, and is determined to ensure that they are not sidelined in internal power arrangements.
He further stressed that mechanisms are being put in place to maintain fairness, balance, and cohesion within the party, especially as it continues to expand its membership base.
Prof. Yilwatda also called for unity and mutual respect among party members, urging both long-time stakeholders and new entrants to work collaboratively toward strengthening the APC’s vision and electoral prospects.
He reiterated that the party’s leadership decisions will be guided by principles of equity, merit, and respect for its historical structure, rather than opportunistic interests.
The APC chairman concluded by assuring members that the party remains focused on consolidating its achievements and fostering internal stability, while strategically positioning itself for future political success.
