KANO STATE
Speaking on the matter, Governor Yusuf stressed that leadership at the state level must be respected and cannot be overridden by individuals who no longer occupy positions with direct control over party affairs in the state.
He maintained that while Ganduje is a notable political figure with a significant history in Kano politics, his current standing does not grant him the power to dictate decisions or interfere with the administration and direction of the party under Yusuf’s leadership.
The governor further highlighted that political leadership comes with clearly defined boundaries and responsibilities, noting that effective governance and party cohesion depend on adherence to these structures.
According to him, any attempt to bypass or undermine the recognized leadership hierarchy could lead to unnecessary conflicts and weaken the party’s stability in Kano State.
Governor Yusuf also used the opportunity to reaffirm his commitment to inclusive leadership, unity, and the advancement of the party’s objectives within the state.
He called on party members and stakeholders to remain focused on collective goals rather than individual influence, urging them to respect constituted authority and work collaboratively for the progress of Kano.
His remarks are widely seen as a response to ongoing political undercurrents and power struggles within the state, reflecting broader dynamics within party politics in Nigeria.
The statement underscores a firm stance on autonomy in state leadership while signaling a desire to maintain order, discipline, and clarity in the party’s chain of command.
