Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has strongly condemned the recent surge in violent attacks across various parts of Nigeria, describing the situation as deeply troubling and a serious threat to the country’s unity, peace, and long-term stability.

He warned that the persistent insecurity, if not decisively addressed, could further erode public confidence and hinder national development.

In his statement, Atiku emphasized the urgent need for a more coordinated and strategic response from security agencies, alongside stronger collaboration between federal, state, and local authorities.

He noted that protecting the lives and property of citizens must remain the foremost responsibility of government, and called for renewed commitment to intelligence gathering, community engagement, and effective law enforcement.

The former Vice President also took the opportunity to express his appreciation to the United States government for its continued support in Nigeria’s fight against terrorism.

He acknowledged the importance of international partnerships in strengthening security capabilities, enhancing counterterrorism efforts, and promoting regional stability.

Atiku further urged all stakeholders, including political leaders, civil society organizations, and citizens, to remain united in the face of these challenges.

He stressed that overcoming insecurity requires collective resolve, sustained investment in security infrastructure, and policies that address the root causes of violence.

Reaffirming his concern for the safety and well-being of Nigerians, he called on the government to act swiftly and decisively to restore peace and ensure that communities across the country can live without fear.
