African Democratic Congress rejecte INEC Decision

African Democratic Congress (ADC)

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has strongly rejected the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)

To derecognise the National Working Committee (NWC) led by David Mark, describing the move as unlawful,
unjustified,

And a direct affront to democratic principles.
In an official statement issued by the party’s leadership, the ADC expressed deep concern over what it termed as undue interference in its internal affairs,

Emphasizing that the composition and legitimacy of its leadership structure remain strictly within the purview of the party’s constitutional framework.

The party insisted that due process was followed in the emergence of the David Mark-led NWC and maintained that INEC’s action undermines established legal and democratic norms.

The ADC further announced its intention to challenge the decision through appropriate legal channels,

Vowing to seek judicial redress to protect the integrity of the party and the rights of its members. It stressed that the rule of law must prevail and cautioned against actions that could set a dangerous precedent for political party administration in Nigeria.

Reaffirming its commitment to democratic ideals,

the party called on its members and supporters to remain calm and law-abiding while the matter is pursued in court.

The ADC also urged INEC to reconsider its position in the interest of fairness,
transparency,
and the stability of Nigeria’s democratic process.
