Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has addressed reports surrounding the alleged suspension of Fubara Dagogo, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, clarifying the role of party structures in such actions.
Speaking during an interview on Arise Television, Morka explained that any disciplinary action taken against a party member originates from the ward level, which he described as the foundational unit of political participation within party systems.
He noted that every member, regardless of status, belongs to a ward, and that structure holds certain powers over its members.
He further emphasized that the national leadership of the party does not directly handle such suspensions, stating that such matters are managed at the grassroots level.
His comments come amid ongoing political developments in Rivers State, where tensions within party structures have drawn national attention.
According to him, "Yes, as I learned, he (Fubara) was suspended by his ward, not by the national party. We don't suspend; those matters are dead with you, you know, because every member of the party, irrespective of your status, you know, you come from a ward, you're a member of a ward, so it is the ward that is afforded that authority to manage all of that.
